’’ملک و ملت کا مسیحا نہیں رہا‘‘
بالآخر وہی ہوا جس کا کھٹکا مہینوں سے لگا تھا اور اس مسیحا نفس نے اپنی جان جان آفریں کو سپرد کردی، جس کی مسیحائی سے لاکھوں نے زندگی پائی تھی، حق یہ ہے کہ حکیم عبدالحمید کی وفات پر بھی وہی الفاظ دہرائے جائیں جو مسیح الملک حکیم محمد اجمل خاں کی وفات پر مولانا سید سلیمان ندویؒ نے تحریر فرمائے تھے حکیم صاحب کی وفات خاندان کا ماتم نہیں، دلی کا ماتم نہیں، قوم کا ماتم ہے، فضل و کمال کا ماتم ہے، اخلاق و شرافت کا ماتم ہے، سنجیدگی و متانت کا ماتم ہے، عقل و رزانت کا ماتم ہے، آزادی و حریت کا ماتم ہے، اخلاق و ایثار کا ماتم ہے، ہندوستان اور مسلمانان ہند کے طالع و بخت کا ماتم ہے۔

حکیم عبدالحمید کا دائرہ فیض و خدمت بہت وسیع تھا، ان سے پورا ملک مستفیض ہورہا تھا۔ ہمدرد کی دوائیں سکہ رائج الوقت کی طرح گھر گھر پھیلی ہوئی ہیں اس لیے آج سب ہی اس محسن اعظم کی جدائی پر اشک بار اور ماتم کناں ہیں۔

حکیم صاحب جس بدنصیب ملت کے فرد فرید تھے اس میں بڑا قحط الرجال ہے، وہ تنہا اپنی ذات سے ایک انجمن، ایک ادارہ، ایک جماعت اور ایک قوم تھے، ان جیسے پیکر صدق و اخلاص اور سراپا خدمت و عمل کا اٹھ جانا عجب سانحہ اور ملت اسلامیہ کا زبردست خسارہ ہے، سمجھ میں نہیں آتا کہ اس کی تلافی کیسے ہوگی اور اس غم کا مداوا کیا ہوگا۔ بلا شبہ وہ اس عہد کے مسیح الملک، ابن سینا اور رازی تھے۔

Women Dealing with Health Problems in Desert: A Case Study of Cholistan

Being a desert, Cholistan has nomadic and semi-nomadic culture with life threatening climatic and geographic conditions. In fact, life in Cholistan revolves around search for water, food and fodder. Health problems are also acute among these desert dwellers. The area is deprived of healthcare services. The existing literature on Cholistan desert contains no scholarship on the ways of dealing with health problems particularly of women. This article is the first of its kind to explore this aspect. Using ethno-methodology, primary data were collected from 50 elderly women through protracted qualitative interviews and participants observation. Thematic analysis technique was used for analyzing the data. The findings of the study reveal that several intertwined factors such as lack of road and transportation facilities, lack of healthcare infrastructure and qualified medical staff, adverse weather conditions, mass illiteracy, ignorance and existence of massive poverty are main factors responsible for poor health of women in the Cholistan. Also, women’s health problems are given little importance because of male dominance and male support and approval is sought by women before getting medical treatment. In addition to this, lack of access and poor awareness about modern healthcare services, make women in Cholistan rely mainly on self-medication and local remedies such as ethnomedication and spiritual healing.

Efficient Music Fingerprinting for Music Speech Segregation

Since decade, a lot of music fingerprinting and speech segregation algorithms have exhaled. Music speech segregation includes music identification and followed by speech segregation. This becomes challenging in the presences of the noisy environment and noisy sample case. A rapid development has taken place in the field of multimedia content analysis. Music information retrieval applications increased the emphases on the development of music fingerprinting algorithms. Noise affects the efficiency and accuracy of the audio information retrieval algorithms. This research thesis presents a deep analysis of music fingerprinting and speech segregation algorithms. A novel algorithm is presented for music fingerprinting which is used for efficient speech segregation in which music fingerprinting is performed over a noisy audio sample. This research work proposes a system that performs music fingerprinting in-depth evolving the speech segregation processes in presence of background noise. Noise is removed from the audio signal using layered separation model of the recurrent neural network. Music fingerprinting is performed on the basis of pitch based acoustic features classified using distributed dictionary based features learning model. The classified music is processed for speech segregation after noise removal using layered separation model. Speech is segregated using vocal based acoustic features. Features are classified using improved dictionary based fisher algorithm. Structured based classes are used for the classification process. The systematic evaluation of the proposed system for music fingerprinting and speech segregation produces competitive results for three datasets (i.e. TIMIT, MIR-1K, and MusicBrainz), and the results indicate the strength of the proposed system. The proposed system produces significantly better results when the qualitative and quantitative analysis is carried out over the standard datasets showing the better efficiency of our proposed system from the past systems.
