نجران کے یہو دیوں نے سرکار دو عالم ﷺ کے خلاف ایک یہ الزام دھرا کہ آ پ ﷺ کی یہ ساری محنت اور جان ماری اس مقصد کے لیے ہے کہ جو مقام و رتبہ حضرت مسیح ؑ کا چلا آ رہا ہے وہ آپ ﷺ کے قبضہ میں آ جائے اور عیسائیوں اور دیگر افراد کو آہستہ آہستہ اپنے آہنی شکنجہ میں جکڑ کر اپنی پرستش اور پوجا پاٹ میں لگا لیا جائے ۔
جواب: اس اعتراض سے پہلے اس کا پس منظر بیان کرنا ضروری ہے تاکہ حقیقت سامنے آ سکے ۔ یمن کے ایک شہر نجران جو تہتر گائوں پر مشتمل تھا وہاں سے ایک عیسائی وفد ساٹھ افراد پر مشتمل سن ۹ ہجری میں آ پ ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا ۔ ان افراد میں رئیس الوفد عبدالمسیح تھا ‘ دوسرا شخص ایہم جو سیاسی امور کا نگران تھا اور تیسرا ان کا لاٹ پادری اور روحانی پیشوا ابو حارثہ بن علقمہ تھا ۔ صحابہ کرام ؓ عصر کی نماز ادا کر چکے تو اس وقت یہ وفد ،مسجد نبوی میں آ یا یہ لوگ بھی نماز پڑھنے لگے صحابہ کرام نے منع کر نا چاہا لیکن آ پﷺ نے فرمایا انہیں چھوڑ دو ۔ نماز سے فارغ ہونے کے بعد آ پﷺ نے ان پر اسلام پیش کیا اور قرآنی آ یات تلاوت فرمائیں لیکن انہوں نے اسلام قبول نہ کیا اور انہوں نے کہا ’’ ہم آ پ ﷺ سے پہلے کے مسلمان ہیں ‘‘۔ آ پ ﷺ نے فرمایا تم نے جھوٹ بولا ۔۔۔ تین چیزیں تمہیں اسلام سے روکتی ہیں ۔ اول صلیب کی عبادت دوم سئور کا گوشت سوم تمہارا یہ گمان کہ مسیح ؑ اللہ تعالیٰ کا بیٹا ہے ۔ (نعوذ باللہ )...

معاصر مسلم تعلیمی حالت اور مستقبل کے چیلنجز: پاکستان کے تناظر میں

The history of Muslim Education reveals that there was no difference of materialistic and religious education in the past. However, for the last two centuries, Muslim world divided into many ideologies which consequently produced separate educational institutions for every ideology. In the secular/modern educational institutions, religious and metaphysical studies are missing while, on the other hand, religious seminaries focus on the pure religious education. In such a situation, two kinds of students are graduating from our educational institutions which do not have congruence in practical life with each other. Present Muslim world in dire need of a comprehensive educational system combining the modern secular and religious subjects in an appropriate manner. Currently, if Islamic world is distressed technologically at one hand, it is divided in many sects, on the other. Therefore, acquisition of scientific and religious, both kinds of education are required for Muslims. In the present paper, the responsibilities of Muslim world are discussed to face the current and future challenges from educational perspective in order to portray a true picture of Islam and its followers.

The Locus of Motivation and Achievement of University Level Students

Thesis Title: The locus of motivation and achievement of university level students in Pakistan. This study was undertaken to know about the locus of motivation and achievement of the university level students and to find out inter-relationship of male and female students. In order to collect data one questionnaire was used which was developed and tested by Dr. Russell F. Waugh, Edith Cowan University, Australia, with his permission to gather data for motivation and achievement. Its validity was confirmed by the group of experts and reliability was calculated through Cronbach Alpha on 100 students not included in the sample. The value of Cronbach Alpha comes out as 0.78. Then results of different students were collected to analyse the data to compare male and female students with their responses. The questionnaire had three main aspects of motivation, linked with two response sets (What I aim for and What I actually do), and an ordered set of subject response categories (none or only one of my subjects, in some, though not most of my subjects, in most, though not all, of my subjects, in all or nearly all of my subjects). Only seven universities were included in the sample which were willing to participate. Pearson Product moment correlation and t-test were used for analysis of the data. It was concluded that the majority of the university level students had the highest motivation level. It is also interesting fact that gender difference was found in the motivation level of male and female students. Data collected through questionnaire from 1267 students was analysed and tabulated. Three different departments (computer science, management department and social science departments) were chosen to collect data from male and female students. It was also concluded that there was positive correlation between motivation and academic achievement of the university level student and motivation and achievement level of male and female students was higher than that of female students. Another interesting fact was that from all these three aspects constituting the locus of motivation i.e. striving for excellence, desire to learn and personal incentives, the predominent aspect was personal incentives.
